The application of clean technologies in Lithuania covers three main industries — renewable energy, mobility and transport, and resources and environment. “Lithuanian Cleantech Ecosystem Review 2023” analyses the most innovative clean technology products and services provided by start-ups and engineering startups.
In 2023 Lithuanian clean technology market experienced gradual growth. Total investments in clean technologies in Lithuania in 2023 amounted to 107.5 million euros, which is as much as 70% annual growth. Since 2017, when the consolidation of the Lithuanian clean technology market began, total investments in local clean technologies amounted to 812.5 million euros.
There are currently 60 active start-ups and engineering startups operating in the Lithuanian energy, transport, resources and environment sectors, of which as many as six have successfully completed investment rounds as early as 2023.
The review emphasizes the importance of Lithuania's clean technology sector to the local economy. With significant global investments in renewable energy, new mobility and related clean technologies, Lithuania is well positioned to take a leading position in the region.
