The International Energy Agency (IEA), in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, has presented the latest Energy Policy Review of Lithuania. This is a strategic document designed to assess the key challenges facing the country’s energy sector and, drawing on international best practices, to provide concrete recommendations for a cleaner, safer, and more accessible energy future.

The report highlights Lithuania’s achievements and leadership at the regional level, including:

  • Ambitious energy policy goals and a clear strategic direction;
  • Successful reduction of dependence on fossil fuels;
  • Integration of advanced technological solutions into the electricity grid;
  • Active and purposeful regional cooperation.

The IEA emphasizes that these elements position Lithuania as a positive example for other countries seeking a fast, secure, and sustainable transition to clean energy. Such recognition creates opportunities to share accumulated experience, foster cooperation, and strengthen political will at both national and international levels.
